Carolina Catholics

We have multiple opportunities for our Carolina Catholics (USC Catholic Undergraduate Students) to grow in their faith and intentionally build community.

On Sunday nights we have "Sunday Supper." It begins with the celebration of 5 p.m. Mass and supper follows in our Center, served family-style. It is an opportunity to break bread, make new friends and intentionally build community. You have to eat anyway so, why not eat here, together? For our students, the realization that there are so many others who are walking the same walk with them, having the same struggles and, how we need to support one another - just the importance of community - has been transformative.

'Trifecta Tuesday':

Adoration is from 5-7 p.m. in our Chapel where one can come and spend quality time with our Lord in the presence of His Blessed Sacrament.

We offer the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation from 5:30-6:30 p.m. within this time on Tuesdays.

Our Daily Mass time on Tuesdays is at 7 p.m.

Daily Mass Wednesday-Friday is celebrated at 12:30 p.m.

For those who are interested in growing deeper in their faith, we have:
'Duc in Altum (which translates to 'Put Out In to the Deep') Faith Reflections. This is a perfect opportunity to gather together for some mid-week encouragement for our Undergraduate students who, together, spearhead the weekly themes which revolve around how to practically live out our beautiful and rich, Catholic faith in today's culture.  The Word serves as the foundation and center for these themes.  These gatherings are from 1-2 p.m. on the 2nd floor of our Center, upstairs in "The Holy Family" Room.
For those who desire to give of themselves and serve in community service, we have our 'Works of Mercy':
On Wednesday nights, we meet on our Center Front Porch at 7:30 p.m. and we drive together to Finlay Park to help serve food to the homeless, in conjunction with the 153 Project.  We finish around 9:00 p.m.
On Thursday evenings, we meet on our Center Front Porch at 6:15 p.m. and walk together down the street to the Christopher Tower. It is low-income housing for senior citizens and is owned by the Knights of Columbus. We engage in a ministry of presence there and work to build relationships with the residents.  It only costs 40 cents for each Bingo card you'd like to play alongside them. It is impossible to not leave with a smile on your face.  We finish at 7:30 p.m.
Our Catholic Campus Ministry here at USC strives to offer opportunities for our young people to grow in one's personal relationship with Christ, as well as various opportunities to go and be Christ for others.  Just about every night of the week offers something different.  The Faith Formation Staff at St. Thomas More's goal in their walking with the students is single-hearted:  to form intentional disciples.  We are here to know, love and serve Him.  And, we have a focus on Mission, as we are sent forth by the sacramental graces we abundantly receive by the extravagant Giver of every good and perfect gift.

"Mission is always the fruit of a life which knows what is it to be found and healed, encountered and forgiven. Mission is born of a constant experience of God's merciful anointing."

-Pope Francis
